Timeouts - Could Social Media Create A Space to Breathe?
Oh to be a fly on the wall at twitters network control centre, the volume of data they must see flowing in an ever mutating cloud of opinion, if you have ever considered the machines know more about us than we do then now is that time. In thought experiments amongst colleagues on how this could be addressed we discussed a 'timeout', a regular, perhaps 4 times a day shutdown of the some of the functionality of these sites, not to mute or oppress, but to create a moment of reflection and space to breathe.
